Gombe state is one of the few states in the North-Eastern region of Nigeria with its capital called Gombe.
The state was created from the Old Bauchi state in 1996 by the then military regime under the command of General Sani Abacha.
Sharing borders with Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Taraba, and Adamawa; the state is mainly occupied by the Fulani tribe with more Muslims than Christians in the state.
With 11 Local Governments in the state, the major language remains Fulani which is widely spoken in 9 LGAs across the state.
