International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) was set up in Ibadan, Nigeria with the aim of establishing quality tropical foods.
This was a collaboration between Ford and Rockefeller foundations as they aim in boosting crop production and self-dependency as relation to foods.
International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) has diverse research centers across the continent of Africa all working to the same goal, enhancement of quality crops, reduce hunger and poverty.
As a Non-Governmental Organization, IITA has over a thousand hectares of land where they embarked on cereal improvement programs, the systematic improvements of yielded crops, and root crops.
IITA has also diversified interests in crops like Banana, Cassava, Cowpea, Plantain, Soybean, and Yam.
Over the years, IITA has grown to have a base in other African countries ranging from Zambia, Uganda, Tanzania, Tanzania, Nigeria, Mozambique, Malawi, Kenya, Ghana, DR Congo, Cameroon, and Benin.
IITA Qualifications / Requirements

- BSc/HND in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or business-related field of study
- You must be a team player to apply.
- You must be computer literate with good MS Office knowledge (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- You must have 3 years of relevant work experience to apply
- You must have good communication skills, great writing skills in English
