Microsoft has just unveiled the Windows 11 Operating System and it is said to change the way we use the computer.
Windows 11 has taken some time in the pipeline but is finally here.
Below are some of the key features noticed during the unveiling of Windows 11 which is due for full release before the end of 2021.
‘Start Menu’ Moved
The position of the start menu has a new facelift.
We’ve all gotten used to the Windows Start Menu being on the bottom left of the PC, Laptop & desktop.
The Windows 11 start menu will sit at the bottom middle by default – However, you can move it back to the bottom left if you so desire.
New Live-updating widgets
With a swipe form your left edge, you get a while new live widget that has different info.
Just like some popular settings on your smartphones where you have a news widget by swiping from the left edge.
You can customize the widget to feature weather, live updates, stock updates and more
Android apps in Windows app store
This has long been overdue! Now, your Windows App store comes loaded with Android Apps.
This feature ensures a new dispensation with the integration of Android Apps for PC.
This is a big leap for Windows / Android users as it brings android Apps to a bigger screen with a stronger fire power.
Build-in ‘Teams’ – video calls and chats
If you are familiar with Skype, then, ‘Teams’ won’t be an alien concept to you.
Windows 11 ensures a built in Video Calls and Chat features for all conference needs over your computer.
This is a leap and huge competition for the likes of Zoom and Slack – having Team built into Windows PC.

- 4GB RAM and above
- 64GB Storage and above
- Processor speed (any of the Windows 10 processors can be compatible)
How to download & install Windows 11
You are eligible to download Windows 11 as a free update later this year.
All Windows 10 PCs will be able to receive the Windows 11 free updates by the end of 2021.
Once available, you can download by visiting your Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for Updates > Download Updates (Once available)
Microsoft will continue to support Windows 10 until Oct. 14, 2025.
