Osun state whose capital is Osogbo is an inland state located in the South-western part of Nigeria.
The state is bounded in the west by Oyo state, in the south by Ogun state, in the north by Kwara state, and by Ondo and Ekiti state partly in the East.
The state ‘Osun state’ was created in 1991 from part of the old Oyo state.
The state’s name was derived from the Osun River, which is the natural spring of the ‘Yoruba’ goddess of the same name ‘Osun’.
The state population consists of both Muslims and Christians mostly Anglican, Methodist, Catholics, and animist.
